Queen Majesty makes some of the best hot sauce in the world, and this Scotch Bonnet & Ginger hot sauce is right up there as one of our favourites. The original recipe is very loosely based off of a Jamaican jerk recipe, but more to compliment than compete with it. Lots of fresh ginger root and Scotch Bonnets give this sauce a vibrant flavour with a slow-burning heat, while the lime juice and garlic help round it out to make this a surprisingly versatile sauce.

In the words of Tina Turner. This sauce is better than all the rest. So much complex flavour in this, enough heat to get you sweating, but not so much you regret lathering it on. If I ever cook something shit - this saves the day. A pantry staple.

Great sauce!

The colour? Liquid Oompa Loompa. The smell? Like you just walked past the herbs and vegetables area of your supermarket and found the ginger section, and maybe Status Quo was playing on the in-store radio so you were slightly distracted.

The taste? Like when your dumb, older brother Derek would pin you down and say “STOP HITTING YOURSELF”. It doesn’t creep up on you, doesn’t knock at the door of your tastebuds and then waits for you to answer. It kicks down the door and brings a load of clothes that needs washing. It’s an attention-getter.

This would rock on an Asian noodle salad, or cut it with some mayonnaise to make it a dipping sauce.
