Ziggy's Wildfoods - Native Muntrie Apple Pie Hot Sauce
Also known as Emu Apples or Native Cranberries - Australian Native Muntries are the delicious love child of flavour that you'd expect if you crossed a fresh blueberry with a warm spiced apple pie.
That's right - they're delicious!
These little berries have spice flavours reminiscent of clove and cinnamon, and together with its flavour punch - are an absolute joy to eat!
Muntries hold a significant place in the historical diet of the Narrindjeri people of the Coorong in the south-east of South Australia - where these have been picked.
These star ingredients have been cooked down with some Riberry & apple vinegar, fermented jalepeno & beautiful citrusy fatalii chillies - and fresh coriander - for a tangy, summery hot sauce that reminds you of a warm winters dessert.
